The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) is a major client of RVL Survey.
They have two dedicated surveillance aircraft, a Reims Cessna F406 and a Cessna 404, on thirty minutes notice during daylight and two hours at night.
For dispersant application two Lockheed L188 Electra aircraft with palletised systems designed in-house, have to be ready to spray at the nominated forward base within 6 hours of being called.
Another F406 aircraft with an externally mounted, removable, dispersant spraying system, also designed in house, is another aircraft available to the MCA.
When not required for operations, exercises or training the two Electra and the F406 spraying aircraft are used for commercial work within the area defined by the callout times.
